Electrolux AP-100 not running

I have another AP-100 in the basement that runs good, I think I'll open it to compare the wirings and see what is wrong, if it's the wiring or the motor itself. I'll post pictures of both side by side.

Well , I put a good motor in the machine and a good tube with a good rubber tip and
no go, no light bag door light. So I thought the motor isn't the main problem.

Actually, it's a broken cord problem (see picture).

It doesn't mean the motor runs, but we'll know when the cord is fixed. I feel quite a bit dumb I didn't hink about the cord at first...

Les, I've completely rewired 3 houses. I've solved electrical problems that real electricians failed to. I've also rewired entire cars. So I think I'm allowed to talk like I'm an electrician. Also, yes, I am crazy.

quebecois - Don't feel bad about not noticing the broken cord. I did the same thing a couple months ago! The cord was all chewed up and I was taking apart the motor to see why it didn't work lol. Always remember when diagnosing something - anything - start with the basics.

Also, never apply power to the brush connectors! You want to apply power to the field coil wires, and even then, only if you know which ones are which. Most one speed motors will only have 2 wires going to the field coil (not counting 2 more wires that come out of the field to go to the brushes).

Madmen

I was joking good heck don't take it so seriously start to sound like me. Im well aware it was a pun. Now stop taking my posts so seriously. I have done houses and cars too doesn't mean I'm not a smart ace.
