Nice scores of a couple classic Electrolux tanks—particularly the 75th anniversary edition. It appears to have the original hose, too.

Your "oyster & fog"-colored Ambassador III Model C101H was distributed from c.1997 to 1999. The original power nozzle would have been the matching Model N115K, so someone just put its cover and elbow on a PN6.

The L-E (Limited-Edition) was made from 1985 to 1988 with that model name and in two successive color schemes, so it would likely have had a lot more use.

60 bucks is a great price for sure. Good negotiating!

I've got a Diplomat LX that I rescued from beside a dumpster a few years ago and resurrected to working condition. It's basically the same machine as your Ambassador, a good machine with plenty of power, and easy to take apart to work on. Have fun with them.

Antoine

Try brushes off your other machine as they should still be the same.
I think all electrical arcs blue unless it's burning then ypu get the skittles colors.

Antoine, That's a really nice Ambassador III you got there! And a terrific price for both vacuums too. The power nozzle is original on that, hasn't been modified like Paul thinks. Your hose looks like it's a grey one from a Ambassador II, slightly earlier than this mid 90s. Nice that you got the Electrolux tool caddy - those are so nice to store extra tools and not have to use the clip on the filter cover.

I would bet the motor on the L E is toast. The fact you say the motor "runs down on power", ie running slower, means the armature is toast on the motor. The shame of it is those motors used in the Marquise/2100 from 1986/87 onwards that have the plastic brown or black carbon brush holder are not meant to be rebuilt. In your case, as much as I hate to say Junk It, that's what I would do. Save the switch, power pedal and switch yoke, rubber motor mounting ring, cord rewinder & plastic body endcap & call it a day. Even if you do find a good spare motor, it's not likely going to last long, and you may not make a profit on it afterwards if you try to sell it. But, it IS worth harvesting all those good parts for other repairs and refurbs to sell later on :)

Nice!

Sounds like you got a good deal!
I have an Ambassador III that I picked up off the side of the road several years ago. Mine is from the dark grey era.
It cleaned up really nice, and works great, although I don't use it much.
Mine is kind of growly on wind down.

mine is also  noisy  on wind down but not so  bad now i change the blue bag to a  4 ply  bag  the  blue were humid  i find from when  original owner brough em in  i find it runs better with the  4 ply  brown bags  downst growl as much  . Il harvest the parts from the LE  for my  ambasador  3  and junk the motor i hada look armature has rings worn into it from carbon brush didnt look to to healthy to me.

Nice Ambassador 3, I have one as well. My grandma had an Ambassador 2 when I was growing up, so I had to get a similar one. I like the white and blue of the A3.

I've always liked the 75th Anniversary models.
I have an Epic 6500 75th that I curb picked. It was badly abused, and seems to need a new motor.
I've had it for years, just sitting there in that condition. Well...I did clean it up cosmetically.
The one time that I tried to test it, it just made a scary, electrical hum, and sparks shot out of the wall outlet.
