I have been after this model 502 for a long time, I spent many hours playing with one at the Pasters house. It stood at the top of the landing to the second floor. So i would come in the house to visit and tun right up to it. It needs a good polish now

A 502S! That's identical to mine minus a few more scratches.

They are superb cleaners and the beater brush roll is next to only Hoover's for beating ability.

How have you found the carpet grooming as yet ? Mine never fails to impress.

Am I right in saying it has "Made in Britain" written on it ?

If so, you're rest assured for many years of faithful service there.

Only issue with those is the hose that goes from the main body to the cleaning head - it rips in all of them at one time or another, an issue I'm sure you're familiar with seeing as Dysons have the same problem.

Which is why I fail to understand why Dyson seemed so unwilling to look at cleaners from years gone by and see what works and what doesn't.

The 502S like all 500 machines in SA were made in Cape town at the Electrolux factory in paardenisland. I am not sure why it says made in britain on the hood, as the factory id plate says made in SA

The AEG is not really my cup o tea so to speak, so lets chat. I rescue alot of vacuums just to stop them been trashed even if they aren't really what I like. I just wish there were more collectors in SA so we could swop and trade. DR

op me a mail and lets chat about it
