Electrolux 3500sr 75th Anniversary

I have been meaning to post this for a long time and I finally sat down at the computer to do it.. I wanted to post a pic of Tom Gasko with his new Electrolux 3500sr 75th Anniversary upright that I gave him for all of his help in getting me my Rainbow E2. This upright came into my shop after a lady had dropped it down her stairs. She had decided it was too expensive to fix so I ordered all of the parts and fixed it and brought it home. Tom had his eyes on it from the first time he saw it and now he has it and I know he really likes it. He told me that he uses it all the time Here is a picture of him with his new lux.

I love my 75th Anniversary upright. It's a beautiful machine to use as well as to look at. I wanted it for two reasons, it would complete the collection, AND, it came from you. I now have all four anniversary Lux cleaners, the Golden Jubilee, the Diamond Jubilee, the 75th Anniverary 3500 SR, and my brand new 80th Anniversary UltraLux. Of all my Electrolux cleaners (and I have one of each model ever made), the 80th Anniverary UltraLux is my #1 favorite to use. 100 inches of water lift, beautiful design, excellent attachments, and the matching flip over floor tool and extra steel wands. Beautiful machine, especially the Logo, with the model 12's 'lighthouse' design. What a gem. I think of you every time I look at it.

80th Anniversary UltraLux

Does anyone have a picture of the new UltraLux? I looked on the Aerus website but I could not find one. Im very curious to see what it looks likes.

UltraLux

Our new VCCC member, Derreck, is the branch manager for Electrolux (Aerus) in St. Louis. I'll ask him to post a picture of the UltraLux for you. I LOVE MINE. It's such a nice cleaner, and with 100 inches of lift (from the new VM3 motor), it's a fantastic machine at cleaning. You should try to get one, you'll flip over it.

New UltraLux

Tom, I'm very interested in this new Electrolux. I didn't know they were coming out with a new model. I haven't stayed current on their machinces since I don't have one for my daily machine and haven't gone into the Electrolux branch in quite some time. I don't know if you remember but you helped me out some time ago when I was only about 16. I used to fax you at your store and were always a huge help! I tried to get some info about 3 weeks on the Air-Way you designed but the company hasn't sent it to me yet (The web page doesn't give much info on the unit). Anyway I just sent in my check to Terry Lattz for my new VCCC membership and I'm looking forward to being a member of the club again.

New Lux

Ok, so I went to the Electrolux dealer while I was out before (since they are only 5 minutes from my house) but i didn't see the UltraLux. The dealer was closed since it was after 7pm, but I could see right in the window and my headlights lit up the place. They had all the regular (old) models on display, no new machine. I thought for sure i would see one on display in the store . Im dying to see it and to use one! Does anyone know what the MSRP is on the machine?

Lux uprights

I have a Lux "special edition" upright w/tools and side kick!
found it at a thrift store for $10.00. What a deal, I found
the tools on Ebay. I love to use it, especially the side
kick on my steps and cat fur on the furniture. The problem
is the hose suction is low. Measures about 30ins on the water
lift gage. I am glad to hear the newer or newest one has a
different motor w/more suction!!! Dose any one know if the
new headlight uprights have a better more/suction then my
older Special Edition???

Lux Upright

I have owned the Discovery II (like the Special Edition), Epic 3500, and the Lux 3000. I believe that the 3500/3000 were more powerful than the Discovery 2 and although I'm not 100% certain, i think they had a different motor than the Discovery 2. If I remember correctly the Special Edition models and the Regency were sold at large retail chains. There were quite a few machines with the pig tail cord that were recalled some time ago since the cord could come out of the handle and shock the user. I remember seeing them in Costco when I was very young and wondering if they were some kind of knock off machine. Tom and some other members can give you the correct answer about the motor. I can tell you though that 30 inches of water lift is crapy. When I had my Discovery 2 the Epic 2500 was still avalible and I asked Electrolux for the water lift info on the machine. I believe they claimed it was 60 inches but the 2500 and the 3500 shared the same motor. I know that my Discovery wasn't the most powerful vac but I would check out the machine if I were you.

New Lux uprights and 80th Anniversary Ultralux

Steven.. I'm the manager at Electrolux here in St. Louis and the deal with the 80th Anniversary Ultralux is as follows; they made them available to order to all branches and some branches ordered them and some didn't. Our 80th anniversary was in 2004 and these machines I'm assuming were left over. The retail price on them is $599 with a $100 trade in allowance. It's really a great machine in that it has more to offer than the Lux Classic canister which is the current bottom of the line machine. It has the lights on top like a 2100 that indicates when the machine is plugged in, the full bag indicator, no bag indicator, and thermostat light.. however it has no valve in it, only the 80th anniversary logo in it's place. It has the new VM3 motor which is the same motor that our new uprights have which is pretty impressive. You'll notice if you look at the new uprights they have a extended motor housing house in the front to accomodate for the new motor. If you have any questions.. let me know and I will be more than happy to answer them for you.

Ultralux

Since its no longer the 80th aniversary, does the Lux Classic have the same motor as the Ultralux? Do the current Legacy and Guardian have the Ultralux motor? Does Electrolux have any plans to change their model line up anytime soon? One thing that I did not like about my 6500 and Renaissance was when using the floor nozzle you still had to use those clunky plastic wands. I liked how the older machines, and the classic, had a seperate lite weight wand set for the floor and the power nozzle with its sheath never needed to be used for above floor cleaning. I love how easy the 6500 and other lux canisters are able to manuever around my house and that made them so easy to use. When it comes to performance I feel like Electrolux has not kept up with the others in its price range like Miele (even kenmore). One of the reasons for buying a new Miele two years ago was because I didnt feel like my Luxs had the power to clean as well as other vacs and I went on a hunt for a new machine. Lux has a dealer five minutes from my house, bags are not rediculouly priced, and the warranty one the Guardian (if its still 25years) is outrageous. It just seems like the most important part of the whole picture, how it cleans, still stands out above all the other added benefits.

I spent Saturday evening with Tom Gasko at his house playing with vacuum cleaners and took some pics of his new 80th anniversary while I was there. Tom gave me some great machines too.. one of them being an AWESOME Airway 77.. it's beautiful.. so I will post those pics tonight too .. stay tuned..
