Electro Hygiene model 94 oiling

I recently purchased a model 94 with a hammered finish. On the top of the
motor housing is a screwed on cover. I expected that under the cover would be
spring with cloth on the end for oiling....there is nothing I can see under the cover.
What is it ? It does run but it is noisy....maybe I should just take it apart ?

If you unscrew that cap and it just an empty tube underneath it leads to the bearing material. Some machine have the oil and spring setup but that one doesn't appear that it would, at least my Electro Hygiene doesn't. Just add a few drop down it slowly.

Unscrew the protective oiler cap over the tube and add 3 to 4 drops of medium grade (SAE 30) motor oil.

Royal recommends oiling the motor bearings approximately once yearly in general household use.

Electro-Hygiene Oiling

bvac and BikerRay are both right. You should also find another oil port toward the rear, and it should be oiled the same way as the front one. The 94 was built from the late 30's until 1942, when production was stopped for WWII.
Would like to see more pics. Does yours have the original bag?

Oiled

I oiled at both points..waited a few days and oiled again (assuming it has
not been oiled for decades)...still sounds bad...the rear bushing/bearing is
making the noise. Guess I'll have to tear it down and inspect.
I'll get more pics....does not have the original bag..has an older
replacement bag.
