I hope someone gives that

Hoover Constellation 444 a good home. I sure don't want to. I have 4 of them already. I always liked this model it reminds me of a orange basketball. They are nice even though they are the bottom of the line models... Dan

Didn't see other thread, but...

...even if i had seen it i would have started another because when the previous Ebay thread gets too long (over 100 posts) that hurts people on iPads (or other tablet devices) or Smart phones with limited data plans. When you click to check the last few entries it loads the whole smear & that eats up data especially when many big pics have been posted.I should have put a number on this one however...

Do you adore Kenmore? part 2 -central vac

Sears did much to sell and increase awareness of built in vac systems with at least 2 pages in most big catalogs from mid 60s thru 70s.I have the adapter and tool caddy(and more and MORE to follow)for the Sears system at vintage vacuum cleaner or EBay seller leisurelady65.Rare items for the retro home!---(AirWay trivia-the above Priscilla was named for Edward Lambs(pres of AW)daughter).

every house needs Westinghouse-

-with the right attachments!Atts for WH,Elux & Sunbeam and more at vintage vacuum cleaner or EBay seller leisurelady65.

Thanks for creating a new eBay thread! I try to keep on top of it and start a new one when they hit about 100 posts. With the holdays and being sick, I just lost track. I renamed the thread "eBay Thread #5".

Decade rumor?

There is a rumor of Decade being auctioned on Ebay, but I can't find it, has anyone seen it? Thanks.

It's for a Eureka Model 250, 255 Upright......

They had the square nameplate on top of the machine for tool conversion. See picture on left.

"Is this a Compact hose? It doesn't look like a Lux hose."
No, that is a hose for a Eureka upright.

The fitting is designed to clip into an access port under a clipped cap in the exterior hood casing above the brushroll, on the body of the machine below the headlight. The fitting inserts down and then rotates inward, cutting off airflow from the main brushroll intake bottom plate, directing near full suction through the hose.
It was a convenient innovation over other brand's methods to attach a hose for above-the-floor cleaning - most others were awkward slide or clam,p on affairs that covered the entire width of the brushroll plate - of accomplishing this for above-the-floor cleaning. It appeared on two-tone blue Eurekas just prior to the top mounted rug height dial.
In another note:
Saran braided Eureka hoses are renowned for retaining their flexibility and air tightness long after other brands braided hoses have become leaky. Most of mine from the 50s and 60s Mobilaire hams, Rotomatics, canisters and uprights alike, are still 'thump' worthy.
