A seller listed a Hoover 4123 convertible model 4123 last month, and the winning bid was 228.50, closing Feb. 25. I had it on my watch list but with probably 45 convertibles already, it wasn't a high priority, but nonetheless thought I would watch it. Low and behold, another listing for the same model, different style bag, was listed, and noticed that the winner of the previous listed model was bidding on it also, interesting. Well, the original listing is back, not listed at 55.00 original starting bid the first time, but 117.50 which is what the other one brought. Wouldn't you think the original would've been paid for and a done deal after a week? At least when I win an auction, I pay immediately, but I guess in some cases not. Further investigation shows the original winner with 3 recent bid retractions? I have never retracted a bid before, but isn't there a limit or doesn't it set off a flag to ebay if there is a pattern? I guess the current lister thought they'd raise the starting bid at what the other one brought, oh well, good luck to all. Bid retractions are something I would look at, as a seller, if someone is bidding unusually high on something, and in this case would've requested payment way sooner than over a week.
