Greetings All,

Does anyone have a nice, clean and all original early convertible that they'd be willing to part with? I'd sure love to find one of the headlight models but I like the convertibles in general (I have a clean 33 as a starting point). Maybe someone has a duplicate?

Thanks!!

Best Regards,
Brian

base models (the 30 series specials) are still very common all original. you can find them at estate sales, thrift stores, and even ebay for cheap. headlighted models of the same vintage can be found cheap, but in really good condition, unless a collector has a dupe, you wont find them cheap on ebay but once in a while. they usually get bid up high. best to find one in a- to b+ great and clean it up yourself. youll get it much cheaper that way and can look great without much trouble.

early Convertibles

I happen to have a very nice Mo 66 on EBay now with deluxe attachments. You might want to take a look.(EBay seller leisurelady65)Your rug and 'all the dirt, all the grit' that will be leaving it wouldn't know the difference between the deluxe and your Mo 33.But you will see the full bumper, zipper on bag, headlight, separate blower and suction connectors for stretch hose and more that the early deluxe Convertibles had.As above you are probably in an area where the best downtown dept store as well as vac shops had Hoover at that time. They can still turn up but not as often as in years past.
I wonder how many Fay Jones houses in your region were Hoovered?

Very Nice 66

Hi, I saw your 66 on ebay... very, very nice machine!! Hoovers are moderately common in our area and also in my home state of Iowa (born and raised in Des Moines). Iowa tends to flip-flop between Hoover and Eureka and Arkansas seems to be mainly Hoover and Electrolux.

As to the Fay Jones houses yep, we have a few of those too. There was one for sale in Fayetteville a few years back and we went to look at it. Those homes just have a certain style that's all their own (and a price tag to match). :)

vacuuming Arkansas

We had an Electrolux division manager in charge of about 10 branches nearby in the 80s.He started in Fayetteville as a salesman in the 60s,then branch mgr,and later regional mgr. This system was part of what made Elux great in the pre Aerus days.He and his salesmen probably added greatly to your areas Elux population.
Fay Jones was an architectural genius as seen even in his early smaller homes. We often hear that Sam Walton drove a Ford pickup and had a simple ranch home but are seldom told that the simple home was a E F Jones design of 1959.It was a normal size and not a huge mansion but coming from Jones it was a work of art.
