Keith: Also curious as to any opinions you have on the DC22 DDM MH. I have the DC22 MH with the AC motor and think is a brilliant little machine, Personally I would love to try out the turbine head on one :) Feel free to email me. Email addy in my (out of date) profile

Jack: I absolutely love the 23T2 :)

Edgar: You enquired about buying bags overseas... Well in Australia you usually just can't buy them from a supermarket :( They may have Electrolux bags but that is about it.

For anything else you have to go to a specialty shop or the place where you purchased your machine to get genuine bags. Generic ones are a bit easier to find with one of our major department stores Big W (Think Wal-Mart without food) carrying a small range.

Personally, living 60 kilometres away from any of these it is quite inconvenient :P

When the Electrolux D735 was the daily driver, more often than not we would perform "surgery" on the bag because we weren't able to get more for a while.

When I got the Dyson DC05 it nearly filled the bin in our living room alone.

It is mainly for the inconvenience that I do not like bags. Combined with the whole loss of suction, That drives me nuts.

I am NOT saying bagless is for everyone! Quite the contrary, Different systems work for different people.

Karl: If your Kirby works for you I am really happy for you :), However I believe, FOR MY USE that the Dyson is more economical, Time saving and hygienic.

As for the "UNSANITARY" bagless machines, Does this mean a bagged machine is totally clean? I am going to agree with vacuumfreeeke and say that no vacuum is totally clean.

I have found that since I started using Dysons in our house my Asthma and allergies have been under more control because the machine is not blowing air through dirt, rather spinning it out of the air stream (which is also interesting to watch).

As for emptying... I do what, According to Dyson, I shouldn't... According to Dyson I should empty it like Jack does... Into a baggie. Personally, I find out which way the wind is going, Turn my head, dump the bin in the direction of the wind and close it on the drive way... Never had an issue with doing it this way.

i see in the future. . . .

i predict the next big *innovation* will be a vac without a bag or dust bin. an internal laser will zap the dirt, hair, dust mites, to smithereens with only a small amount of oxygen and water vapor as the end result. it will be very *green*, NEVER loose suction, and have all the bells and whistles.

it will be the ultimate vac and play toy. i have stated this before so if you want to use my idea mr dyson or mr kirby just call.
