today, since I had no school due to significant snow fall, I took the time to compare one of my favorite vacuums to one of my least favorites. the Dyson DC33 versus the DC07. I love the DC07 it is one of my favorite vacuums of all time, in fact I grew up with one. the major problem I have with the DC33 is that its too flimsy. just using it I felt the plastic rattle, bend and twist and ways I think it's intended not to. the DC07, on the other hand is nothing like that. then I noticed that Dyson changed the size of the bin and cyclone assembly. I could understand that they would want to change the cyclone so it's more compact but, changing the bin to a smaller size, in my opinion is stupid because now the vacuum can't hold as much collected dirt. then I noticed that the length of the hose and quality of the wand changed. the DC07's hose is very long and the wand is made of durable metal but then on the DC33, the hose is short and the wand is made of a cheap plastic. I assume that Dyson did that to keep manufacturing costs down. second to last, the hoses on the bottom of the vacs that connect the cleaning head to the body are trash! they are always disconnecting and causing dirt to spew everywhere! lastly, the tubes that connect the hoses on the bottom to the bin are noticeably different. on the DC07, the tube is larger, preventing clogs and loss of suction. on the DC33, the tube is so much smaller, that can lead to clogs and loss of suction which Dyson says won't happen. these are just my opinions so please don't say I'm wrong or anything.[this post was last edited: 1/27/2015-15:29]
