The best upright vacuums with on-board tools...

Are undoubtedly the Tandem Air Riccar Radience or the Maytag M1200, both made by Tacony corp.

I will be trying one out next month. I think I'll be just as impressed as Seamus who imported the Brilliance.
Tandem motors, metal brushroll, foot release, cord hook, motor mountings. Very nice tools, excellent filtration.

Looks fabulous to me Nar. But we shall see :-)

But Kirby did it right!

I HATED the setup on my DC17, it was terribly awkward to use! You had to lift the wand up and out of the handle, then hold it an uncomfortable angle.I had 2 DC17s, and sold them both! OK on carpets, but there's a better way!

Homes aren't cleaned the way they once were. Used to, you popped the carry-strap and hose on your Kirby, then went around the house and attended to your Above-The-Floor cleaning. Now, the hose on an upright is seen to many consumers as a way to get gunk out of a corner. Setting up the Kirby for this would indeed be a hassle, but it's a PLEASURE when the couches, beds, ceilings, corners and everything else require cleaning! Would you rather have a shining aluminum power-house following you around, or a clunky plastic what-have-you? Think of all the drag-around-tragedies!

Marcus: You really should visit Tom Gasko at the Tacony factory when you go to St. Louis. You will not only be able visit the largest vacuum cleaner museum in the world, but you can also visit the Tacony factory right next door and watch the Riccars, Simplicitys, and Maytag vacuums being built and rolling off the assembly line.

If you're interested, Tom can let you try one out and you will be very impressed. You will see for yourself  why Tacony built vacuums are simply the best, excepting Kirbys of course! Tom can get you a good discount on any of those 3 brands at the Factory Outlet Store and show you how take it on the plane with you back to the UK. I think he's done it before.

The handle looks awkward on the DC17, but I so wanna try one because of people raving about the power. The replacement for the DC17 is the DC28 air muscle. The brushbar digs into the carpet for improved pick up on carpets.

I actually own a DC07 also, and it's like brand new for its age. I end up using them both a lot because the DC07 works better on carpet and the DC40 works better on floor. I like both of my Dyson's for their convenience, but I'd rather have a Rainbow or some sort of high end canister like a Tacony machine....I have more important things to spend money on right now other then a new vacuum cleaner.

Are you that guy with the red DC14 purchased in Summer 2006, and painted the cleaner head for the clutch or something, and torn the hose, and never fixed it because parts were expensive? :) if so, I loved your videos :D

I recently got a bagless vacuum. I use it only for carpets but I use my rainbow for everything else like dusting, hard floors etc. I use my Rainbow to Suck the bin clean and the foam filter....

Yep that's me! Haven't made a video in quite a while, my stupid I-Phone won't upload videos I take! Guess I'll need to import the videos to my computer and upload them to YouTube from it instead.
