I was in Michigan and on my way there I stopped at a casino. In the restroom there is a Dyson hand dryer. It has so much power it is ridiculous. I looked them up online, they show the motor that Mr. James Dyson was holding and it looks like it is the size of a small soda can. Ok how can a little motor like that develop that much wind, and how long with that motor last?? Thanks for any info. Mike.

The Dyson hand dryer you came across was an 'Airbalde'

These have Dyson's Digital motor which spins 5 times faster than a racing car engine.

That's why it is so powerful. It has plenty of Torque in it, making it spin so fast.

Hope this helps :)

Is this the same motor they put in that hand vac?? or is it bigger? I would love to see one of these motors like twice the size. I wonder how long it will last and can it be repaired. anyone know?

I used them in Birmingham Airport and Rochdale hospital, the motor spins 5X faster than a formula one engine.

The Dyson Digital Motor is also used (albeit in a much larger size) in the DC22 MotorHead canister, and in a smaller size for the Hand Vacs. There are NO carbon brushes, it will run 'forever' and makes very little heat. Rainbow is the only other vacuum cleaner to use this fantastic motor that has zero emissions.

Noisey

Is being polite. Stand there drying your hands in a room where others are doing the same and you can't hear yourself think. I have no idea what it is about Dyson and noise, but it seems to be of little concern to them.

The only ones I've seen in the flesh were at an amusement park near me; Kings Dominion. They are quite loud but very effective! And I like the idea of them filtering the air instead of just blowing straight bathroom air on your hands.

In the US we have another hand dryer I detest as my ears are very sensitive. is the ecelerator Man that is really loud and I can't be in the same room with one of them. they are fairly quiet when running (sounds like a canister vacuum) but when someone puts their hands under it,, it is insanely loud. But the Dyson is really powerful. I may see if I can find that motorhead with the digital motor. I would love to have one. How good are Dysons ?

Dyson DC22 with Digital Motor

Brushless technology means the motor will run forever AND will have zero emissions of carbon particles.

I hate them too. I wrote to them as I was in a gas station where I live and they installed them when they renovated the place, and they are so loud and so annoying I for one refuse to use them I will walk out with wet hands (not the end of the world) and I wrote to them asking why are their hand dryers so damn loud. they wrote back and said they are redesigning that issue. and they had to mention how the Dyson has a germ trapping problem and it eats the plastic. Hmm, I wish the germs would eat the plastic that is on the sides of the road that is polluting this country.

At school, we have these egg shaped dryers called "Airforce" which are loud but good, not as powerful as Dyson though.

is it one of these?? never seen one here yet. but they are here I am sure. what kind of motor is used in the Excelrator? is it a vacuum motor?? it sounds like one.

That is a nice Dyson,, just don't like pink,,, If it was aqua that would be the bomb. but pink,,, maybe it's the picture I would like to have one with that digital motor. the only thing I fear with those digital motors is, the bearings at that speed how long can it last without replacing the bearing,,,if it could be replaced.

Dressur: it sounds like a cheapo vacuum cleaner running healthy but its like that but a little different, but almost similar
