Hi folks,

I'm an owner of dyson DC59 Animal. When i was doing my research before i purchased this DC59, someone told me that the vacuums per se are exactly the same but DC59 comes with a motorized main floor tool and a mini turbine tool plus the wand.

The fact is I'm considering buying another handheld vacuum. But since I already have DC59 and 90%+ of the time i use it without the wand. I am now considering DC58.

However I wish i will be able to use the 2 motorized tools from DC59 on the DC58.

Although I'not exactly sure but i tend to believe the aforesaid motorized tool works on DC58. This is because although the US version of DC58 doesn't include any motorized tool but the UK version of DC58 is equipped with the mini motorized tool:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/vacuum-cleaners/handheld/dc58/dc58-animal.aspx

Since even for the US version DC59 the charger takes universal voltage i assume the UK DC58 is the same as the US DC58, only the UK package has the mini motorized tool.

As a matter of fact I find DC59's motorized main floor more useful (not just for the floor) than the mini motorized tool. So my **REAL** intention is to use the motorized floor tool with DC58

Since the UK DC58 is able to power up the mini motorized tool i assume DC59's motorized main floor can work with DC58 as well.

Nevertheless, I do not have confirmation on this matter.

I have contacted Dyson US support and they told me those motorized tools will not work with DC58. But a youtube comment says those motorheads work on DC58.

So I wish to know if anyone here has ever tried this -- attach DC59's 2 motorized tools, especially the main carbon filament floor tool to a Dc58 and see if DC58 can drive the motor tools?

thanks

Dyson has been known to be wrong, but I wouldn't take advice from a Youtube video!
