I was aimlessly looking at the Dyson website and spied something in the cutaway illustration / model of the DC54 Cinetic cylinder cleaner.
The cutaway seems to show two different types of small cyclones, both types depositing into separate receptacles.
The first type of small cyclones seem to have larger diameter vortex finders, and deposit dust into a space between the shroud and inner core.
The second type of cyclones appear to have narrow vortex finders and deposit their load into the inner core.
