I picked up this vacuum yesterday for $5.99 at the local thrift. Before turning it on I checked everywhere I could for problems/damage. Plugged it in and everything sounded fine. Saw that the brush roll turned when the button was pushed.

At home I found a part that was damaged while cleaning the dust, hair and crud from the brush rolls. One of the knobs has broken completely off.

Only the larger length brush rolls turns. Long story short, I need a replacement geared spindle that is enclosed in a housing attached by belt to the motor.

Nothing available from Ebay, vac. stores closed today. Usually this comes as part to the replacement motor assembly, but my motor works fine.

Can anyone help?

Got the part.....

along with an extra motor. Just had to change out one rubber wheel and everything went back together nicely. Not good for me to have to wait a few days to remember where each part fits and which screws go where.

After I finished, the vacuum was restored.

Take care all,
Garry

Pictures! Take photos before each thing you remove, then you know exactly where it goes in. Other people use foam egg cartons to keep track too.
