Here's my next door neighbour's Dyson DC33. They said that their vacuum had broken. So I went to see what was wring with it, and they said it wouldn't work. The exact problem as last year had reoccurred. A broken cable connection.
Took it home and before I started working on it, I had a look at it since it had it's brushbar cleaned last week and filters washed about a few months ago.
There was lots of hair on it considering it was only a week ago since the brushbar was cleaned. I know this because they had called me last week to fit the brushbar in properly as it would not work. The brushbar was clean, but inserted wrong as well as the soleplate.
The filter has a massive ball of hair on it with lots of fine dust on it. I have vacuumed it off with my trusty Dyson DC14 All Floore in white, orange and silver. There was also dry sugar in the filter housing.
The hose was also ripped, but when I returned it about an hour and a half later, it was in fantastic condition.
The bin is way over max. It always gets filled up like this and it's only two years old.
In the two years of ownership since it was bought new from Currys two years ago, it has had the following faults:
Blown motor
Two cable repairs
Loss of suction
Wand replacement
Ripped hose
I have made a video of it in action. You will be able to see this with the link provided.
Enjoy
