I've noticed that other Dyson DC32 vacuums sound different to mine. Mine sounds quite choked and as I don't want to use a partially blown up Dyson as my daily driver.
It kind of sounds like the suction relief valve is open. But that scraping sound as the motor spools down makes me think it needs a bearing job. There is no need to replace the motor, it just needs a tune up and lube.

Thank goodness it doesn't need a new motor, Dysons are tricky! Also, the suction relief valve never seems to open if I block it, but it still has good suction so it must always be open. Anyway, thank you .
