Dyson Dc27 & Dc28

I have been thinking about buying either of the two . What is the difference ? Should I buy one ? I have not been to fond of Dyson and I like the looks of these two. I also have very thick Frieze carpet and all other Dysons I have tried do not work on this type of carpet. They get stuck(Brush Bar) and are very hard to push.

The DC28 uses the Airmuscle technology which is basically a height adjustment so it deep cleans better. The DC27 is basically the same thing without the Airmuscle. The DC28 will probably come with more attachments as well.

I have the dc 28 and use it on a daily basis. I have the same carpet as you do and also really thick rugs and it performs wonderfully on both. The brush roll has longer stiffer bristles and the airmuscle pulls the head of the vacuum deeper into the carpet. I think you will be very pleased with the dc 28.

Well I purchased the

Dyson DC 28 Air Muscle,I used it in my home on my Frieze carpet and it was a complete struggle. The Dyson sticks to the carpet and I had it on the highest setting. I called Dysons 800 # and spoke to a nice young lady. She instructed me to remove the brush roll plate and remove the gasket seal . I put it back . together and it only helped a tad. I also tried it on a flat pile runner and it sticks to it also. I can`t understand how it can clean without airflow ? I barely had anything in the bin when I finished vacuuming.I also tried to use the attachments and had to fight with the hose as it wanted to suck back to the machine. Is there something wrong with this Dyson as it seems to have too much suction ? Does anyone else have these problems with the DC28 ? I love the looks and I love the real brushroller that dyson has finally put on their vacuums.

Unfortunately the air muscle is very specific to different carpet. It seems to work like a champ but unfortunately can be real bad on others. The carpet I vacuumed whith when I used one was short medium pile and fairly dense. It did an amazing job and was pretty easy to use.


I had the hose problem with my dc17. Dysons just have such a ridiculous amount of suction. Still dyson has proven for me to be better in suction on the hose than any other upright I have ever used.

I have a couple Dysons in my collection--the SUCTION does no good unlesss there is AIRFLOW.I have used my Dysons-DC07,DC15(Ball) and don't get much in the bin.Use my Kirby,Royal metal,Sanitaire,Hoover Convertable or any other directair bag vacuum-get more dirt.The Dyson hand tools are "user UNfreindly" to use.the Kirby hose and handtools are easier-and same with any canister.The Dyson needs to have a manually adjustable floor nozzle."Auto" adjust ones don't always work.I find the new Dyson brushrolls TOO aggressive-they dig up more carpet "fluff" than dirt-just my experiences-yours may be different.The Dc 07-NOTHING.

That is exactly what happened to me with the Dysons. I love the new designs but they tore up my rugs. I would be very careful with a Fieze carpet and brushes that aggressive. I also had the same problem with the tools. My Dysons had very high suction but the hose was difficult to use without the machine falling over when the hose compressed. I thought they have some very new and fresh ideas but so far the ones I have just do not work on the types of rugs,carpets and hardwood floors in my particular home. I do like the floor brush, the soft dusitng brush the "ball" concept and my DC23 turbinehead cansiter.

As such my Dysons sit at the back of my vacuums-not much use.For all of their Bruhaha-there are better machines-and in some cases-less money and cleaner and easier to use.I prefer bags,thank you.the only bagless cleaner I have grown to like is the Rainbow.Its hand and bare floor tools are user freindly,and the carpet powernozzle on the new E2B works very well.Vast improvement over their older ones.
