I have had this machine for just over one month now and its been brilliant.
I have emptied this machine once before but today came the day I decided to rinse out its filters following the operation instructions of monthly filter wash intervals.
I have always found a build up of long hairs on Dyson machine pre motor filters I used to use, with the exception of the DC03 which the pre motor filter hardly got dirty, the DC04 and DC05 also DC16 handheld along with some sandy particles - it seems unavoidable in my house as two people in the household have very long fine hair which seems to end up everywhere (I didn't realise the carpet had so much hair on it!!!) The brush bar gets quite quite a bit of hair entwined in the middle part. The brush removal design is excellent, the brush just slides out with the use of coin.
I found a huge bunch of hair on the pre motor filter and some sandy bits, it seemed to have more than the other machines though. The Post motor filter was black with carbon dust but easily tapped out. I only just realised that these filters need 24 hours to dry as opposed to the 12 hour on the previous Dysons I have had.
Very impressed with the machine however and I think it will serve for a very long time and as I posted before its made much better than previous generation Dysons.
