Absolutley

nothing , that was the begining of Dyson in the US and it was a machine designed for Europe and all the bare floors they have . I have not liked any Dyson until I bought my DC 28 Air muscle . Now I want the DC 41 Ball finally they improved the Ball .The DC 07 is only good for bare floors and office carpet .

It's a shame they havnt made a more aggressive brush roll for this machine as its dysons highest suction upright!

The USA version differed allot from the UK version, it had a stiffer brush roll and much wider opening in the sole plate. the performance of the USA version is much better than the UK version.

Try cleaning out the cyclone, new belts on the clutch and a new filter that normally brings back the power

I have always wondered why we don't use the wider opening an stiffer bristles? Does anyone know why that is? Would like to try the USA version!

o.k then ,

do i just spray the cyclone done with a garden hose? and how much would a new filter
and etc. run me?
i think dysons could be be a lot better,i think fantom really had it with the round, smooth single cyclone,it always get the dirt and throws it around in the tank, dyson's tank has these strange plastic things sticking out of the cyclone witch
block all the dirt up.it makes me so sad that fantom is no longer made, i can't see how on earth dyson was outselling if they barely clean.

and p.s,how would my dyson do on burber carpets?

thanks for all the info,Alex.

DC07 cyclone clogging

The central tube inside the DC07 bin has a tendency to clog, even the later modified version.

Ensure that the central tube is totally clear of fine, fluffy dust. It does build up very easily and is not readily discarded when the bin trapdoor is open. If it is very clogged, try using a garden plant cane, and a suction vacuum cleaner to clear it.

Don't use water, as you will have to ensure that the inner cyclones are thoroughly bone dry, else moisture might make it to the motor. Also, water and dirt form mud.

The idea of the fins in the DC07 bin, is to reduce the amount of dust becoming re-entrained in the upwardly rotating airflow, going to the perforated shroud. The fins therefore assist with improving the efficiency of the outer cyclone.

We wash out the cyclones everyday, first remove the bin then unscrew the cyclone handle, 3 torx screw ontop, separate handle from the cyclone with a gentle tug, be careful not to damage the release rod in the middle, next blast it with a high pressure washer. allow to dry for a day or two, its hot in sa so they dry in an hour or two in the sun.

inside the mini cyclones the dust gets trapped at the bottom , I use a pencil nozzle on my hp washer to effectively remove aly blockages from the mini cyclones. the main reason these get blocked up is due to overfilling of the cyclones

baglessball

the reason the the rest of the worl has the smaller sole plate and less stiff bristles is that dyson recons that we do not like to see the tracks a vacuum leaves on a carpet ( then why was the hoover turbo power/ master so popular)

they also say that we like noisy vacuums as we think quiet ones are not powerful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gsheen!

I recently contacted them to ask why they have reduced the airwatts in there cleaners and there respond was something like the majority of consumers prefer a vacuum which is easy to use.

What about the people who want deep, thorough cleaners?!

I'm not bothered what the carpet looks like after. So long as is is clean!

How would you compare the two for cleaning, (with the wider mouth sole plate and stiffer bristles to the naffer uk version?)

I have always wondered about getting the sole plate and brushbar shipped over. Are the bristles on the USA brushbar a lot stiffer?

The USA version cleans much better, the point is that iof the brushes are to soft it wont lift the pile ( and leave tracks) if it doesn't lift the pile some o the dirt will remain behind.

funny thing is that the dc15,18,25 have the same stiff bristles around the world

You may know, but I hve always wondered what's the difference a helix brush makes? What are the pro's/con's to a helix compared to a normal brush?

yes you can , how you do it depends on what model you have.

what do you have, I have pics on every model just about. our shop is the preferred dyson service agent for the whole of SA. we do all there under warranty work which is mainly customers sucking up water and getting stuff stuck in the hoses.
