Dyson DC07 cutting out

I have a dyson dc07 that about a year ago started cutting out on me after 15 minutes or so. I've cleaned all possible blockages (plus it wouldn't be that because my suction is great). I've removed the bin and cone section and taken it apart and thoroughly cleaned it until it's like new. If I put the bin back in place and let the vacuum sit and run, it shuts off after 15 minutes or so. If I remove the bin, the vacuum will run indefinitely! I'm completely confused. If it were the thermal cutoff, why doesn't it cut off when the bin is in place??

Barney....just wondering, have you ever taken apart the Root Cyclone assembly & tried cleaning that out? There are a number of YouTube videos showing how to do this. It seems obvious to me there are 2 possible problems: 1. Despite cleaning the cone, the Root Cyclone assembly inside is clogged with dust & needs to be cleaned out, or 2. There is a clog somewhere in the piping from the powerhead leading to the intake port on the dirtbin; somewhere there may be a spot that you overlooked when clearing out blockages.

mine did the same thing

after four years of hard use for my cleaning business my DC07 started doing the same thing. It turned out to be the thermal switch in the motor was about shot. I replaced it and the vacuum blew up a few months later. Oh well wasn't happy with its performance or filtration for home use but it worked great for cleaning offices and condo's.
