Hi all,

I have a Dyson V6 Absolute that I purchased in May. I've already have had to request for a new wand to be sent out to me as the top plastic section of the wand that the machine clicks into has started to lift up at the front. If I keep using it, it will only result in breaking off completely. The same thing happened on the DC35 after using it for 2 years.

I thought the wands were more durable, especially as Dyson show in their marketing campaigns the user lifting the wand up high with the Combi brush on to dust up high. I'm concerned that it's not a durable component, but if there was a design fault then I'd see comments online of people experiencing the same issue with their wands, but I don't.

Sometimes I admit I can lightly bash the front part of the cleaner head into the door or wall, but the impact should be absorbed ok by the machine, it's usual usage, not damage. I was so concerned that I considered trying to get my money back on the machine selling it, if the wand breaks again as don't fancy having to keep replacing them.

If I'm not the only person, please let me know thanx.

I have V6 which I have had for two years now, no issues at all with the pipe. Did have to replace the filter after it dropped out and I stood on it. I gave my mom one two about a year ago and no problems either. My dc35 and 45 are still going strong too although they do not see as much action as they used to. Can't wait to get the new V8.

Had the same thing happen but mine was at the floor end. Dyson took care of it but still, don't use it that much and never expected that to happen.

Ctvacman,

I will just have to see how it goes. I am disappointed it broke so soon to be honest, coupled with my experience of the DC35 wand doing the same thing, hasn't made me feel very confident about it's durability. There's an awful lot of creaking sounds from the wand a cleaner head in use, I did wonder what would go. Time will tell on the new wand, I hope it's a one off.

I had to start using the bigger Dyson and it take me longer to clean my apartment. I use the V6 Absolute super quick so I can try and clean my entire apartment on one charge.

Hi Sebo_Fan,

Dyson wanted to send out an engineer as I have reported a few odd niggles with the machine. I said that I didn't want an engineer out & if they persued it then I want them to collect the machine and give me a refund as I purchased it direct from their Ebay shop as a refurb model.

Anyway, they have dispatched a new wand out to me, I'll get it at some point. Very disappointing to have it break and it's not even 2 months old yet.

I've offered to post off the faulty wand to them at my expense as I really want them to take a look but I've been told it's not necessary.
