So, I’m starting to think that Dyson might be the most shown vacuum on tv, not in terms of commercials but in terms of appearances on/in TV shows (doesn’t have to have even be used during the show) it may just be me, but whenever a vacuum is visible (i.e. not in a closet), it’s most always a dyson. Is it true that dyson could be the vacuum brand with most appearances of cameos?

On that note, I think I found Dyson’s earliest cameo: a 2004 episode of The King of Queens. It is a DC07 animal

On a side note

I don't know what episode so I can't grab apicture but there was also a Eureka Victory Enviro Vac in King of Queens.

I think a lot of times it might be a product placement, and the vacuums used on set are just display models donated to the prop warehouse. The DC07 came out in 2001 though.

Someone should make a thread for "As Seen On TV" vacuums to gather pics of all the different kinds of vacuums used on TV shows. I seen an I Love Lucy episode on TV a cople years ago, it was the one with them washing the huge bag of pennies, and they used a Hoover to vacuum them all up!

I don't know the exact model, but it looked like this:

FUN topic and great idea!

These are just a few I could find quickly, and I know of a LOT of other shows that have vacuums in the background. I pay close attention to this as a vacuum collector and I remember seeing about 6 different models of vacuum cleaners on Mike and Molly.. from a Dyson to a Oreck Bagless.

Barbara Jean on “Reba” used a Dyson DC07 at her house and then when she was vacuuming at Reba’s house, she was using Reba’s Dirt Devil. I just can’t find pictures of those two scenes yet..

Oh and Vanessa on “Last Man Standing” used a Dyson too on the episode where they hired a housekeeper to help her.

And who could forget the Rainbow on “Everybody Loves Raymond?” A classic.

And the old Hoover upright with the looong shut down used by Rhoda’s mother? Another classic.

Who here has seen Mrs. Doubtfire? Mrs. Doubtfire famously dances with a Hoover Elite II in that film.

In 2002, Dyson gave a brand new DC07 to everyone who got a gift basket at the Emmy awards. That's how so many of the yellow DC07's got on TV. From producers, to talent, to craft people, all got a free Dyson. You'll know those are the first because the bin door is yellow and not clear.

I think the DC07 on Friends was the first appearance of a Dyson on American TV.

Friends also had Courtney Cox's own Rainbow PE on the show, it's long run down could be heard for 30 seconds after she shut it off.

My parents are aliens
