So I have a red Kenmore Progressive canister I got in 2012. It has that horseshoe shaped dusting brush that fits over the hose end. It being the TOL model does have horsehair bristles, but the brush itself is bulky and kind of odd shaped to dust with.

I noticed the Elite models such as the current Crossover and the Ultra Plush have the same hose end but they use a smaller dusting brush that seems more like the older ones in shape and has thicker bristles. It should fit my Progressive as they both use that odd plastic hose end.

I seem them on Sears Parts Direct and eBay for $10 and thinking about getting one in case they aren't available in the future, since I think they are probably no longer made now that Panasonic stopped making vacuums.

Just wondering if it's worth getting one vs what I already have with the machine.

There's an angled brush as well for dusting shelves, tops of fan blades, etc. But I probably just need the smaller brush.

I typically buy all and any extra attachment tools for my very favorite Vacuums just so I have all the options. I’d get whichever brush you think you’d like the best and would suit your cleaning needs.

As far as items being discontinued, I bought every attachment tool in duplicate for my Felix, as I found out the light grey (original to my White Sebo Felix) tools were discontinued and Sebo is now sending out only the dark grey (almost black) tools with every vacuum! I wasn’t sure if they’d discontinue every light grey part either so I bought an extra set of the outer filter bands as they are light grey too and only about $4 bucks.

My thoughts are if it’s for your collection and you won’t be using it often, skip extra stuff and tools.. but if it’s a vacuum you will use often, to clean your home.. go for it! You might even find a store that carries tools that might fit too. I’ve gone so far as to take an extension wand into vacuum stores (I make it know as I walk in that I own it Lol) that way I can see if another brand fits ok.

Congrats on the Kenmore.. I LOVE mine but they are newer so it’s easier to find parts for now. Thanks!
