went estate saleing today with sean curry and stopped at a thrift store and one of my dream machines was there! didn't have a price tag, tested it and the cashier sold it to me for $5! took it back to seans, and found the hose you see with it, which isnt original to the jubilee, but a great replacement woven hose that has a p/n connector and holds air very well. the machine is in nearly pristine shape, with only minor usage blemishes. i already plan on getting a p/n2 for it on ebay. the only attachment i don't have for it is a crevice tool. if anyone has a spare jubilee crevice tool i'd be grateful and will pay for it.

the only thing that looks like it will need repair is the cord. it is taped and amnt sure where to find a replacement cord for it or if the entire winder needs to be replaced. still has AMAZING suction and airflow as one would expect from this model however.

that's it i've taken the lux plunge! (dear god help me)

will post photos with my good camera after cleanup!

That looks like it's in great shape! The Golden Jubilee is something that I'd like to find someday. I currently have the Diamond Jubilee though. If you plan on using this, I would strongly recommend investing in a new generic vinyl (I think it's vinyl) hose. They hold air much better and make the machine feel much more powerful. But congrats on finding a dream machine! That's always the best!

Great find!

Will,

I didn't know that you were interested in anything outside of Kirby or Hoover. I might have a spare crevice tool. I know you will do a great job in restoring it. I'm glad you are expanding your horizons.

Will, CONGRATULATIONS on your wonderful Electrolux find!! But I must say, I'm a little bit shocked....like Kenny said, just when we thought you were all about Hoover & Kirby, eh?

About that cordwinder....I've got some disappointing news for you. Unfortunately, they no longer make the replacement cords for the cordwinders in white....they only sell & install black cords. And some of the parts needed to make up a complete cordwinder assembly are discontinued. I found this out when I went to Toronto recently & had the Aerus dealer there get a complete cordwinder assembly ready to sell to me as a backup, along with some other parts.

Chase is right about the hose, too....If you plan on putting this Lux into regular service, it would be wise to invest in a new vinyl hose. The old woven hose won't hold it's air much longer & will start to leak soon, if it hasn't already, & they are extremely stiff in actual use. The new hoses are much easier to use. HOWEVER, a word to the wise.....DON'T BUY THE GENERIC AFTERMARKET HOSES!! The generic hoses have LOTS of problems with the slide suction relief not sealing properly after time, PN receptacle wearing out prematurely & the screwholes in the plastic handle wear out prematurely, too. Go to your local Aerus dealer & buy the genuine Aerus replacement hose....they're only about $25 more than the generic hoses & last much longer with NONE of the issues the generic hoses have.

Best of luck with your new-to-you Electrolux, Will!

Absolutely Right Pete

Nothing demands high heels and pearls more than this machine.  One of my favorites.  BTW it is best used with gold lame'.

nice find!!!!!

I do recommend pulling the motor and giving the fans a good washing and inspect the brushes I find the golden j's motors hold up better then the super j's.

UPDATE!!!!

i just purchased a golden jubilee pn2 with the 50th sticker on it off ebay for about $30. all i need now is a vintage sheath/wand combo for the pn and a crevice tool and itll be complete! (then off to the spa with it and inspect the guts)

attached is the ebay pic of the purchase.

Cosmetically speaking from the pic.......

.......you should do well with that PN2 as there does not appear to be any deep scratches and good rubber and plastic with no missing chunks or pieces. "Clorox"
wipes (they remove paint marks and discoloration better) and a dishwasher will make it fresh and looking like new. "Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish" and a ton of small rags and elbow grease and LUX love is all that's needed for a mirror like new shine :)

tyler is that pn2 cover aluminum? if so i can work my kirby style magic and itll be be just as new. internally ill have to look at the guts tho.

I'm so jealous...

I have a big soft spot for the gold colored Electrolux vacs...I have five or six super j's and a 50th Jubilee. Great find! Congrats!!!
