Any locals that lived in the Canton, Ohio area or have gone to the Hoover Historical Center may know what i'm talking about. Way, Way, Way back in probably 2003 or so there was a televised recording of the "Hoover grand parade" or maybe it was called "Football hall of fame parade" in Canton, Ohio and it aired on fox? I'm thinking? Like i said this was in about 2003 so my mind is very blurry when trying to remember that far back. Anyway, a commercial aired celebrating Hoover's 95th anniversary at the time and it showed the various products and innovations from 1908-2002. Correct me if i'm wrong but I think this same video played (or still plays) at the Hoover Historical Center on Vhs tape? My grandmother recorded the commercial on Vhs for me and I remember obsessing over it all those years ago. That Vhs tape is long gone. Does anyone know what i'm talking about? And does anyone have a copy on dvd that they can possibly transfer to their computer and upload to youtube? I haven't seen that commercial in YEARSS.

Well, being Hoover, along with Royal and others, is now owned by TCI Floor Care in Beautiful Downtown Beijing, China, I think your chances are Slim & None, and Slim left town . . .

For shits n' giggles, you might try any mom n' pop appliance stores in your area, if any still exist, to see if they might still have their promotional tape stashed in a file cabinet somewhere they'd trust you with to transfer to a digital file.

Along with that, I recall reading somewhere that Stan Kann did a commercial for Hoover circa 1983 when they were celebrating their 75th anniversary. Some of his vintage machines were on display. Wonder if any copies of that survive also?

Another that I remember went something like this--

--A young bride in a 2 story house is given a machine(Mo O)that 'cleans rugs'.Years later in the same updated house the family gives grandmother a Hoover that'pushes itself'.
Any remember this?

There is a commercial playing continuously

at the Historical Society museum. I've seen numerous videos of those parades, as, Mr. Dick Pike, of Windtunnel fame, has almost EVERY one. Sometimes, "more is too much", instead of "less is more". He recalled that the design dept would go crazy with over the top designs. "If we can design the best cleaner, we sure can design the best floats/displays".
He was right.

Hmmm

Wishing I could find that commercial again!

For those who never saw it back when it aired in 2003 it began with a fast rewind of various Hoover screenshots from 2002 back to 1908 (they range from the caddyvac, concept series, and beyond with so earlier models like the 541) and then it shows "PowerPoint like" presentations of different Hoover innovations along with the cleaners they were introduced on (vacuums appear to be animated). Some of those presentations include the beater bar (model 700 1926) to the side tool conversion introduced on the model 150 and continues through various selected years that had signifance all the way up to dual-v technology in 2002.
