He had 2 Fantom Furys I was interested in, and I bid on one. My friend Szymon bid on the other. We both emailed the seller, asking a few questions about if he had any other Fantoms that would be for sale, and he replied to me saying he did. Szymon then asked him, from his eBay account, if he would accept a money order for the one that Szymon was bidding on. He replied no. Within a few minutes, collectingvacs deleted both posts, the one I was bidding on and the one Szymon was bidding on. I emailed him to see why, and he has not replied to me. I dont know if he thinks Szymon and I are the same person, with 2 accounts, or what, but Szymon and I are 2 different people. I really was interested in both Fantom Furys he had, as they were rare models, and he said he had a few other models that I would have been interested in, however, now he wont reply to me, has not resisted the Fantoms, and I don't know what I did. I didn't know if, since his ebay user name is collectingvacs, he was a collector on here, or if anyone knew him. But even with this aggravation, I would be more than happy to still work with him, because I really wanted those Fantoms.

usually I wait until I win the item before asking if they take money orders that way they can see that they already sold the item and therefore have no choice but to send it to you. as far as your situation stands I would have waited to ask questions until the end of the auction that way the seller could clearly see that you are two different people ebay sellers who have been screwed before can become very weary and weird if you get my drift ;)

Actually.....

Unless the seller states otherwise the only payment method they have to accept is PayPal. If you wait till after the listing ends then refuse to use it they can open a dispute and get you listed as a non performing buyer. I would only ever have one other option and that's cash on collection.....

I agree with Seamus.... waiting until you've won the item and then telling them they must accept a money order just doesn't work out. They certainly DO have a choice about whether or not to send the item, and can get you for non-payment, especially if they clearly state they only take Paypal. I recommend everyone to have a Paypal account... paying with one is so easy and secure and even getting refunds and transferring them back into your bank account is simple.

Were these rare Fantoms that you don't already have? Just curious :o) Good Luck...

Yes and no. They were both Fantom Furys, which I have, but they were models that I dont have, the Special Edition, which is slightly different from my Special Edition Plus, and the Limited Edition, which had the wand like the Crosswind 200 XL and Wildcat, instead of the hose handle. Also, I wont mention all the models he said he had, and I dont know for sure that he did, since he didnt list them, however, he did say that he had a Crosswind 600 XL, which I was going to buy as soon as he listed it, and still intend to if he ever does, as I dont have one, and REALLY want one.

ok so I didn't think about the dispute thing, being a ebay shopper since 06 I have bought with money order plenty of times and now use pay pal, I love my pay pal since it is much easier to deal with. @ fantomvacuumfan if you cannot get a checking account at your local credit union or bank, try getting a reloadable visa and go that way. I am sure that you can get a paypal account with a reloadable debit card.
