a cheaply made vacuum that has lasted a long time? I have a Dirt Devil MVP that was bought in 1992, and everything but the handle release works well.

I had a Eureka Dial-A-Nap Upright Model 1425 (I think) which was bought in Florida in 1982. It cost in the range of $100 dollars which included a basic set of white plastic attachments. A basic classic Eureka white and dark blue upright with a plastic handle and a step on switch - no headlight. Nothing fancy, but it worked fantastically - even on deep plush carpet.

It lasted through several moves to new apartments, and was even owned by a friend for a few years. I replaced the outer bag and brush roll on the unit, but aside from that, it still runs great! Because I did not have room for it anymore, CountryGuy Gary up here in Ontario kindly agreed to adopt her from me in the last year - promising to take good care of her as she moved into old age! I'm sure Gary can tell you all if she is still doing her "thing"!!!

My grandma has had her 1996 Dirt Devil MVP since brand new. Absolutely nothing is wrong with it, and literally not a scratch on it. The belt has even only been replaced once! It is basically mine now though, but I think that would apply
