Does anyone else shake thier vacuum bags down to try to push the dirt to the bottom of the bag

So every so often between bag changes i open the bag compartment in my vacuums and shake the disposable bag around a little to try to settle the dirt, dust, and pet hair at the bottom of the bag on my Hoover windtunnel self-propelled it often results in the bag check indicator going down a little does anyone else do this to try to prolong bag life ever so slightly or do you even consider it worth it to do at all

Only if the bag is full and it's kind of lumped up around the bag opening to where it would fall out all over when you unhook it. Otherwise I wouldn't, as you spread a lot of dust particles around in the air and a lot of older vacuums do lose suction when the bag gradually gets more and more full.

I have only done that when using paper bags-with synthetic cloth-Filtrete bags this is unnecessary.
