The USA version of the Dyson DC27 uses the same brush roll motor as the DC15/DC18/DC23MOTORHEAD/DC25?

I am determined to have a dyson over here with a decent brushroll which I can switch on/off.

ANY info or pics would be much appreciated!!

I believe the dc27 has a unique brush roll in the USA as does the 28. The dc27 in the uk uses the same brush roll as the dc14  brush roll is unique to the machine , why not just get a dc25? they have the same brush roll around the world ?

Well,I have always thought that the pivoted head on the wheeled uprights one of the reasons dyson clean well. I have noticed that when you pull the wheeled cleaner back the brush housing pivots and lifts slightly lifting the carpet allowing air to flow through it. So I would like that style of machine here with a super brush roll!

I do like the DC07 for carpeted homes, a lot. The the rows of bristles really makes for one pass cleaning! I just wish the brush roll could be shut off.

Am i right in thinking the DC07 carpet was released in the USA? Did that one have a wider opening in the sole plate?

There apparently was a limited run of them sleepdoc has one , I don't think there was any reason to change the soul plate on that unit they work pretty well

DC27 brush roll

The brush roll is unique, as far as I know. It's softer and less fully tufted than the dc28, many of whose other parts it shares. Definitely not as stiff as the bristles on the other models you mentioned. I like the dc28 better, but the 27 is a very good vacuum.

See I have always wondered why a larger sole plate makes for better cleaning? Is it surface area? Because I was thinking a smaller opening would concentrate suction more? Does it depend on how good the aggitation of the brush roll is?
