Do You Vacuum Your Vacuum

...When repairing/restoring a new vac, or do you use an air compressor to blow out the debris?

Personally, I prefer to use an air compressor on a windy day outside and blow all of the debris and contamination away. If you use a vacuum, then you have to deal with the accumulated debris at a later time, and who knows where its been!

I use both

I have a cheap bagless central vac which I have a 30' hose on it outside in the garage which I use to clean out other vacuums. This is convent because I only have to empty it probably 2 a year so I don't really worry about. The times I use an air compressor is when there is dirt and dust stuck in crevices where a vacuum can't get to and nor I can wash it.

Yes

I vacuum my vacuums.  I use either the Filter Queen, or Rainbow when doing so.  More so the Rainbow as it is easy to just dump and flush  the sludge when I'm done, and don't have to worry about critters escaping into my home.

I take them outside & use a gas powered leaf blower gets everything out & then some!

I've only vacuumed one vacuum cleaner. My Kirby G5 had a FILTHY outer bag when I got it and I vacuumed it with my Electrolux 1205 but it never got all that clean and it was damaged besides, so I eventually gave up and replaced it, sending the G5 down the path to becoming a FrankenKirby.

My Filter Queen was so filthy when I got it that I scrubbed the lower bucket with a toilet brush and PineSol.

I vacuum my vacuums as well.The NSS is a favorite to vacuum other vacuums with.

I vacuum all off the vacs I get,I use one of my 4 Henries,1 always has the hose attached.

After I use any of the vacuums with shake out bags I shake out the bag then I will vacuum out the bag. A friend of mine commented that it was weird that he can walk into my apartment and not smell a vacuum odor even though I have vacuums all over the place.

Sure do.
I steam clean my steam cleaner too.
But I ask you, have you ever washed your washer?

Washing washers----Yes, some new FL washers have a self clean cycle.With folks encouraged to do more cold water loads-the machine gets funk built up in it.also people don't leave the doors on their FL machines opened so it can get ventilation and dry out in between uses.You use bleach in the self clean cycle-the washer than washes itself with only hot water.And yes,there are washer cleaning agents available-if you use some hot,warm loads-and keep the door opened in between uses -the cleaning cycle and washer cleaning agents aren't necessary.

I've vacuumed my vacuum, never washed my daily driver washer because it never needed it. I have washed other washers before before bringing them into the house or giving to my sister.

I wash the outside of my washer/dryer

I just had the dryer's gas valve replaced this evening.  "Bob" marveled at the condition of them.  I'll post pics soon.


 I've been know to go over a vacuum w/ a nice dustintg brush, too.
