Do you all think you can use regular mop solution in a Hoover steamvac

I recently acquired a hoover steamvac and was wondering if you could use just a general mop solution like pine-sol or fabuloso or do i need the special hoover cleaner i currently have two steamvacs the steamvac widepath with the headlights and a later Mexican model with a nonmoving brush

Ofcourse i suppose i could always use one with just water and mop with an old school mop after the fact as well

Ofcourse I'm referring to use on hard floors not carpet i have the pet detergent for carpet use

What I currently do is use a garden pump sprayer to mix the cleaning solution and then spray the floor with it. Then I use a tile brush to scrub it in. Then I'll use an extractor with just water to clean it all up. You should never leave cleaning solution on hard flooring or carpet. Soap residue attracts dirt.

I would think that the strength of the chemical might eat up the rubber tubing inside the machine. Fabuloso might be OK, but those chemicals are meant to be diluted in water first before using.

Some machines also might react negatively to the solution - like using non Kirby brand shampoo in the Kirby shampooer will cause it to become a foamy nightmare.

I would only use distilled water in it. If they sale cleaners I'd only use ones for it.
My symphony steam cleans and distilled water is only thing I out in it. Anything else will clog pores and ruin it.

Whatever you end up using,

when you're through always run a little clear water through the machine and I also pour a little water and suck it up through nozzle, as they recommend.

I like to finish cleaning a floor with my Bissell Crosswave by doing a final clear water rinse. This not only rinses the floor but also the brush and inner workings of the machine. I’ll still remove the brush and clean it on its own, but the final clear water rinse is a great help in keeping the Crosswave itself clean.

...do what the manufacturer asks. Most manuals are online if you don't have a paper copy. There is always: Google.

Try

Just using distilled water. My symphony only use distilled as anything can clog jets. It's all natural clean and distilled water won't clog anything. The tile I work with is white and symphony cleans up and it is still white no chemicals to build up or eat away flooring.
If you just try distilled water you will see.
