I was wondering, with some newer disposable vacuum bags being made of cloth or poly materials. Were there any older vacuums that used materials other than paper for the disposable bags?

I know some bags were unusual colors, like the GE bags were pink, and the Sunbeams were orange. Not sure if that was just colored paper or some other sort of material.

I don't know about vintage OEM bags but many aftermarket bags for vintage machines employ modern materials. There are HEPA fabric bags for a variety of older machines and I noticed earlier today when I was putting a new, Envirocare brand aftermarket bag in one of my Kirbys that it had a thin fabric filtration layer inside the paper. Likewise, the Multifilter brand aftermarket bags I use for my Electrolux canisters and uprights have a four-layer construction that works very effectively.

Have grey Kirby bags that have charcoal in them for purification.
I'm sure there's a reason for the odd colors but I don't think they effect the bag much.
