Dishwashing detergents

<span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">I have been using Dawn liquid dish detergent (blue original, <span style="background-color: #ffff00;">lemon yellow</span> & mountain green scents) for several years & it used to work great!  However, lately it seems like Dawn dishwashing detergent has changed.  I need to put more soap, but it still doesn't clean my dishes very good like it used to.</span>

<span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">Then I tried Gain dish soap & the original scent (green) is the ONLY one that works better than the Lavender (purple) & Apple Berry (pink) scents.  Same thing happened like with the Dawn brand; it seems like everything has changed.</span>

<span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">Hill Country Fare (brand sold only at

stores) is the worst; I could use a whole bottle of dish soap & still NOT get the dirty dishes clean at all.</span>

<span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">I remember years back Joy dish soap ads  from the 1980s & 1990s used to say A spoonful does a sinkful, but I wonder if the dish detergent has changed?</span>

<span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">Is there ANY dish soap out there that gets REALLY sudsy with just a spoonful?</span>

Palmolive seems to work rather well for us as far as decent sudsing with a small amount. I am also pleased at how well it cleans our dishes.

I don't know if it is really any better, but I really like Seventh Generation's Lavender floral and mint dish liquid. It works at least as well as Dawn, and smells great. Plus it is all natural and completely nontoxic. My next choice would be Gain lavender scent. I remember when Dawn worked really well, now it is just severely overpriced. I remember when I was little (3-5 years old maybe? 1994-1996ish?) When I always went over to our next door neighbor's house and helped with dishes, she always used blue Dawn, and I loved the smell. My mom never used it because she thought it was too expensive and didn't work in hard water. I wish they would go back to the old version.

to specificy i use Ajax Lime the scent is more noticeable than the lemon
