Disassembling an Electrolux cord winder

Can anyone shed some light on taking apart an Electrolux cord winder? Specifically I'm working on a model Automatic F, just trying to put a new cord in because the insulation is all cracked. I can't seem to get the reel itself out of the housing. Any thoughts??
