I've had this vacuum for some time and there has always been one problem....

IT ALWAYS BURNS!!!!

The second I turn it on it starts to create a burring smell. I've called Royal before and they said sometimes that a new belt creates that smell. So I used it for weeks and still the same thing. This is the only vacuum in my collection that I can't use. What do you think it is?

check for any scorched wires at motor..then to switch and light..had sim problem with a bravo a few yrs back..but it was too far gone to save.

got to open up motor case.take out screws .look for stuff that looks burnt. did you take off the brushroll hood..to see where or if the belt is rubbing? or melted plastic near belt.
i dont advise the use of it till u track and solve the prob....turn on for testing. run motor with cover off,try to see whats burning while its all exposed.
watch belt and roller as they turn...make sure b-roll spins smooth and not dragging.

larger motor and fan in ddvl.. but thats a direct air design .. or am i wrong. cant remember.

oreck smaller fan...4amps.direct air...but your vac isnt a bad vac imo if offered id take one...in black....but then again if its free...

wasnt sur...but i think its about one of their better if not best.the one we had at the shop lasted a couple yrs..it was a trad in then...so it was worn well when we got it ..up till the day it burnt up..we were hard on it for sur. so i hope you get all the use we were able to get.
