<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: x-small;">This Dirt Devil Vision is a Self Propelled upright, from 2003. I have never heard of a Dirt Devil or a Royal that was self propelled. </span>

<span style="font-family: verdana,geneva; font-size: x-small;">Does anyone have any info on them? </span>

Don't know much about them just seeing them on the shelves when they were new and debating if I should buy one, just because it was self-propelled fun.. but I never did.

Isnt the transmission just like the Hoover concept?? I used one once in the very early 2000s I was at a Summer camp that year and they had one for us to clea up with. It didn't have a belt but thank God hidden in the back of the closet was a Kirby Sanitronic, Panasonic Ultra Pro, and a Hoover conquest lol

Actually there is no jerking, just a smooth glide back and forth.  2 speed drive is strange, I never had anything but the one speed. Works well.

Personally I think Kirby could do with having two speeds on them!

I don't know I'd any body else has found that G5 models and below shoot across the room, where's the models above don't seem to want to be pushed as fast as I want them to go!

Has anyone else found this?

Dirt Devil Cruiser

At one point, I believe one of the dirt devil cruiser models had was self propelled.

Self propelled speed control

I have seen a Sears upright with 2,or maybe 3,speeds controlled by a switch on back.It was the big, bulky style with bag door in front from about 1972.Using I think 5025 bags. The entire handle moved up and down, not just the hand grip.

I had a blue one back in 03 I didnt like the S/P, I don't use it on any vac that has it though. Mine worked pretty good, The tranmission did remind me of Hoover alot. The little shut off tab for the S/P on the back of the handle broke on mine then not long after that the motor went even though I kept the filter clean. Lasted just over a year and with little use. ( I bought it for when the dog had her extra shedding days lol). The best part was the turbine nozzle, I still have it and it works well for a air nozzle.
