Is it really a bargain?

If you were to replace the filters at the recommended intervals, what is the cost of the machine for 4 years - assuming it lasts that long. On Amazon, the F44 filter is $11.61 plus shipping (price is $14.38 + tax & shipping on http://dirtdevil.com/parts/details/304019001/f44-pre-motor-filter/). One of the reviewers mentioned that the filter was only good for 2 months for them. Using 2 month replacement intervals, 6 new filters will be needed per year:

New vacuum: $25 + tax
Annual cost of filters (6) = $69.66 (2 month intervals)

If you change the filter at 3 month intervals, the annual cost would be a little lower:
Annual cost of filters (4) = $46.44 (3 month intervals)

Using a worst case scenario of needing to change the filters at 2 month intervals, the 4 year cost (ignoring sales tax, shipping charges for filters) would be:
$25 (vacuum) + 4*69.66 - 11.61 (1 filter comes with vacuum)
= $292.03.

I'm not convinced it's a bargain compared to some of the Black Friday deals on Dysons which have a higher up front cost. Walmart had a Dyson DC33 Multi-Floor Bagless Upright Vacuum for $199 on Black Friday.

A bagged Dirt Devil model might have been a better deal without the hassle of banging filters.

But for 25$ i really don't plan on changing the filters i will clean and maintain them but you're right its not really worth it ill probably just get the new model when it stops working because thats sadly how it work these days 25$ a year is not that bad since i only use it for quick pickups and such but i do see your point and really it was just a impulse by and would not have got if i thought about it but i do like it now that i have it
