Hey everyone. I know that since TTI purchased Dirt Devil it has never been the same. However I have been looking for a new bagged Dirt Devil upright. I have narrowed it to the Featherlite Bagged and the Breeze Bagged. Its a risky purchase. The breeze gets better reviews, and is cheaper. The featherlite is more expensive by $10-20 but it has ready to use tools. Two questions:
1) Are either of these machines dirty air?
2) Does anybody have any experience of the level of quality of either of these vacs?
Sorry about the length of the post, had to cram in all the details ;).

I wondered the same thing about them being dirty air. I think they are now clean air machines but Id have to look again to be sure. However I don't think they are of great quality, the plastics feel brittle and cheap.

I would hope they are dirty. But who knows. There is reasonable doubt they could be clean. I was shooting for the breeze as a quick machine for in between thorough cleanings with hopefully my soon inherited grandmas Rainbow D2A. After all, you don't want to power use a nice vintage vacuum regardless of sturdiness for there is always a chance of something bad breaking that is hard to be fixed.

I've owned the Breeze..

and i actually really really liked it. It was loud, but VERY aggressive, and a good machine for the money, in my opinion better than the Bissell Powerforce, just much louder.

[However, no cheap vacuum beats a good ol' MVP]

Personally don't like the feather lite, skip it, and get the breeze.

Hope it helps (:

Thanks, Kyle. My friends aunt owned a blue breeze bagless But she through it out as it -quit picking up. Imagine that. The filter was clogged as heck. I used it once and it was indeed VERY aggressive for the price. I would much prefer bagged though =)

Also, could you show pics of your dd classic? My grandma gave me one as my first vac and I loved it. Stupid me sold it in our garage sale for $15 a few years ago. I would love to run into another one. Thanks

I rescued and refurbished a Dirt Devil Featherlight...

I posted recently about the baby blue Featherlight I rescued from the dumpster, fixed up, and gave to my church. They've been using it weekly for about three years and it apparently works great for their needs. I used it in my apartment for a few months before passing it along after I rescued my first Kirby G6. I found it to perform satisfactorily but it I just prefer cleaners made out of metal.
