IMG_2873.jpegI chose to use the Spirit to pickup the Duo powder, since the bag is near full. The Spirit is awful for picking up powder, it went all over the body of the vacuum, I still must clean the spirit. Both my Spirit and Healthcare had a relatively full bag, guess I should have went with the Healthcare!

Yeah that's one of the reasons why I don't really like using powder. Had a similar experience before where after using Capture, I had to sweep off the vacuum after using it not to mention some powder had leaked out of the bag. I'd have no problem using the DUO for hot water extraction like what this professional does.

The caliche desert dust where I live is about as bad as that powder. I always have to put the dusting brush on the hose and vacuum the nozzle top and bottom before I park it to remove the dust that clings to everything. Then if it's a canister I have to vacuum off many of my canister vacs because they always have a bunch of pet hair clinging to the bottom from static electricity build up.

The Riccar is the only one so far that made a mess with the powder. The Riccar is also the only vacuum I have that spits everything that isn’t dust or hair. I’ve never noticed leak in any of my machines, the X4 sometimes when you open the bag door. I always have to dust the top of the Duo machine off. I also don’t really notice the Duo power getting anywhere it shouldn’t, unless I get a bit rough when shaking the powder. I usually try and sprinkle the powder close to the carpet.

I absolutely hate the static in the winter, my D4 has dog hair covering the bottom when I’m done.

SeboU1, the mistake you made with the Riccar Spirit was using it to pick up the Sebo Duo P powder with a relatively full bag! When you're picking up that kind of fine, powdery dirt, you need all the airflow the vacuum has to get it out and into the bag.

Next time, try putting a new bag in the Riccar, and I am sure it will pick up the Sebo Duo P powder MUCH BETTER. Also, one little tip you can do to restore airflow and suction as the bag fills is to take the bag door off, give the bag a good vigorous shake while still mounted to the bag fill tube, then close the door and check the suction at the hose. You would be AMAZED how much suction is restored simply by shaking the fine dust off the bag walls.
