...within the darkness of the furnace room lies a treasure. Long forgotten, hidden in dust, it awaits discovery. It's origin is a mystery, yet it waits...
Recently, I purchased some vacuums for my parish. They have a mix of flooring (and a lot of commercial carpet), but the church was built with "theater" floors which make canisters want to roll down hill. So, I got two commercial Royals and a PortaPower. Well, I found that the janitor had put the bag assembly on backwards on one and went to fix it. I got to looking around the furnace room (where they are kept) and discovered a Tristar CS in very good shape, with the tag! It is covered in dust and I pulled it from it's hiding space for the picture. It looks barely used, probably because of the floor issue. It smells of mildew, but the cloth bag and foam filter are pretty clean. It is missing the tools, but has the hose, wands, and power nozzle. I took it home to clean and I'll see if they want to keep it. It hasn't been touched in years and I have no idea how we got it. There are no Tristar dealers in Oregon as far as I know. At least nowhere near me.
Oh, and they also had a ton of spare Oreck XL bags and the parish hasn't had Orecks in YEARS.
