DC41 AD IN UK!!

Its the same style of ad as the DC04, where they slowly take parts of the machine away and at the end it says something like 'If you want something like a dyson, it's going to have to be a dyson..'

I have checked out the website and the machine is there, but is not yet in the 'ball range'

So I have called dyson today and they said they think that it will be launched in the new year.

Excited? MUCH!!!

Seriously though, what's new about this?? It's a cyclone on a ball. Not really new technology, is it? And it still has a crap brushroll in it. Come on James, groom my rug properly!

Never feels right.

I have tried, really, really hard to like Dyson products. Great advertising, technological prowess, smart store placement, etc., but ehhh they just never feel right. Now I know almost all vacuums are made from plastic in this day and age, but the Dyson plastic feels just a little, well, too cheap. The vacuum, when I have used it, both the "ball" and former models, doesn't feel good -- at least not 400 - 600 USD good. But, aesthetics and feel are subjective, so I say power to the Dyson people!

Well of course just making plastic more confined on the machine is new technology to dyson - what did you expect? I think its more to do with cutting down on the materials used not new technology, ever cheapening.

To be fair dyson has brought us many funky desgins some worked , some didnt. I think the old models are the best dysons your going to get.

Billybud21- When trying out the new dc33 model at the shops i never could get to grips with it. Its just a decade old desgin with a few tweeks to make it look fancy. They do feel cheap and parts flimsy.

Actually, I think the DC24 is probably the best vacuum Dyson have ever made.

Despite this fact, I still don't like them. It's still a heap of plastic with a crap brushroll. It still cost £0.02 to make and cost £300,000,000.99 to buy (ok, slight exaggeration) and it's still messy to empty and it still has filters that require washing (who the hell wants to stand over a sink washing a dirty vacuum filter? Not me!). And the DC41 seems no different.

Actually, I agree. I do like Dyson but am now understanding the downsides, I now think.

I loved my dc24 at first but have hated it for about 3 years now.
I have had nothing but motor troubles, it doesnt clean well evan with clean filters and brushroll. It drives me nuts. Had the pleasure of using a dc27 a couple of days ago and thought it was actually quite good.

Ah my Grandma had a DC27 for a while. It was alright. But it was just another Dyson and it was the LOUDEST Dyson I've ever used

I thought that it was one of the most quietest dysons they have ever made. Comparing to a dc07 it deffinatly felt more robust, solid and quiet. I will have to do further testing!

I've had the opportunity to use a DC41 here in the states and can say that it cleans ok, much better than most dysons I've used. It is also much quieter, and the wand attachment is a much better design. There is also a new floor nozzle attachment that is spring loaded so that it hugs right down to the carpet and creates a better seal, but at the same time it really snow plows very bad. It is also impossible to lean the vacuum back to go over thresholds or up onto carpets. The handle feels really flimsy, but no worse than the DC24 or 25 did. They've also come up with new filters that resemble a paper car air filter, but the Dyson rep assured me that they are micro-fiber or something synthetic like that and that they are still washable. There is no foot release like the DC24, etc, but because of the design of the floor head, you donw hand to step on it like you do with a dc14, etc. To release it, you simply push down vertically on the handle and lean back and it snaps back to a usable angle. I was largely unimpressed and was not surprised to see that they are already dropping the price by 120 dollars to 479 just to move them. Like I said, it was far better than most Dyson's, but still rubbish.

I own my dyson DC25 its a really neat vac and i really want a dc27 oh my god the dc41 has come! i still prefer the DC07 origin cus its the most powerful vacuum i used
imagine a DC07 origin with autosense?! OMG :O with 500AW and the brushes will stick out lol i don t care how heavy vacs are or how hard to push they are i just want a powerful vacuum
