Kenny, my little red Pony continues to amaze me with it variable low to high power, maneuverability spinning on it's own axis, and that cute, compact & useful tool saddle that will not let the tools fall off. Because of the long hose it has become the principal clean up vacuum for the attic project for once-overing the floor and carpets at the end of a work session. I use the Royal on high speed most of the time so you may find the missing slider knob not all that inconvenient for now. I do wish it had the cordwinder, tho...I know one was available.

The heavy Royal wands detached from the PN are a bit tireing for raising up into the rafters to clear away the cobwebs but then no vacuum is all things to all tasks, right? And that's where the aluminum Electrolux or Constellation wands really shine - put four or more of those suckers together and you can reach for the stars with ease. With 10-11 foot ceilings in a drafty old house that constantly produces cobwebs (they are not signs of a spider infestation, btw) aluminum wands are a godsend.

Hmm...Interesting

I always thought the same. That Cobwebs were indeed spider webs that collected dust.I have a tall celing and I do the same thing. I get the plastic or alum.wands and link 4 to get those cobbs. As far as the slider switch I think I can find a replacement at one of the vac shops around here. It my be(hopefully) just the knob that is missing and I may be able to ajust it with a paper clip.I have done that before although that can be shocking at times lol.I have a Kemore that has a rheostat(Spelling?)and a hoover duros with a slider and I like that for the bath rus and a few other throw rugs I have.

Btw....

Kenmore81, Kenny is it?, I did not mean that "HAHA" in a rude way at all, I should of said that LOL or something I do not know, that was not a "haha i have one and they don't" kind of haha, it was funny one. LOL. I meant no rudeness there at all. Sorry

No rudeness taken lol

About those spiderwebs...

...if you have a fire or something plastic (certain plastics, anyway) burn in the house, certain hot bits will rise to the corners of hallways and such.

In the early 60's, my oldest brother was playing under the bed with matches. To make a long story short, the Fire Department had to be called.

When the insurance adjuster came, as the story goes, he had a funny look on his face. My father asked him why the funny look?

The adjuster responded: "This is the first fire I've seen that didn't have the cobweb-like strands of fiber on the perimeter of the ceiling..."

Mom piped up: "Is THAT what those were!? My husband told me to vacuum those down so you didn't think we kept a filthy house!"
