Dave and Petes March micro-meet

Morning in front of some of Pete's mixers, blenders & to

Yeah, so not only did I delete the pix of Pete piloting the Lewyt 120 Big Wheel and the field testing of the Turbine Carpet Brush heads I brought along but now the camera battery is dying and dumbo Dave forgot the battery charger. Pete is now the official papparazzi of the micromeet...

In spite of my unpreparedness, I also got a second Westinghouse Model FW-81 with the User manual and Recipe Book. No bowls or juicer this time. Motor's making scary grinding noises so this one will get a complete teardown before it's turned on again.

"The smart, streamline design of your Food Mixer means more than beauty! There are no cracks or crevices, no bumps or humps, to collect dirt. Just wipe it clean with a damp cloth. Ribbed bowls are easy to hold, even when hands are wet or greasy."

Hi Scott. I have mixed feelings about the Floor Mate. Naturally I like it for its gizmo fun factor but reality wise it's just too fussy to set up and clean after use. I can mop the floors faster with my Vileda mop and bucket in not much more time than it takes to get the Floor Mate up and running. It's a very methodical method of using it as well, slow and measured back and forths often having to let it sit on a sticky spot to scrub. It does have the dry vacuum ability which is a plus.

Turbine Tool Sextet Whirl-off Competition.

The votes are counted and the results are in:

If it ain't got a metal flywheel turbine it ain't worth attaching to a vacuum source.

The 3 items in the front - Sunbeam Turbine Brush, Preco Power Brush and the Filter Queen Pow-R-Polisher (on exhaust) - performed magnificently with a satisfying windup whine without bogging down in the plushxurious deep carpet nap.

The back 3 - Miele, Generic and the Compact Cyclonic Turbinette - all with plastic turbine wheels, clattered up a racket and ground to a halt as soon as you began pushing them. I think they are meant only for smooth floors and jute/sisal weave carpet matting.

Headed out briefly to a local downtown Sunday Flea market and wouldn't you know it - I found both the small and large clear glass banded mixing bowls for the Westinghouse Streamline Mixer posted above. My luck!

A fun Acme Supreme Juicerator with the ever popular induction motor like the Omega for whisper quiet cetrifulgal operation.

I was really surprised how well those old metal turbine floor brushes work.

Here's Dave packing up the treasures to head home.

Mike, here's some closeups of that Kenmore.
Backside there's a little two speed toggle switch opposite where the cord retracts. On the right side of the machine you can see where the crevice tool slides inside for storage. It's an odd shaped crevice tool,, as in the next pics

Although there's nothing really special about these old Kenmores I kinda like them. They work well, they're not quiet but they're not noisy either. This one is much quieter on low and seems to work just as well

Grand opening. the foot operated on/off switch on front. The more deluxe Kenmores always usually had a bigger foot switch across the full width and would hide the tool sets under a lid cover

The nozzle. No adjustments on this one, works fine though and I think it's sized just right The power nozzle for the blue model is so big it's almost cumbersome to use.

I almost forgot, Dave brought me this unwanted Hoover Legacy. Certainly not a Hoover of old and no quadriflex agitator but it'll do as a good loan-outer for someone non vac worthy LOL

Lots of fun stuff and fun times had by all, it seems! Glad you found your Westinghouse bowls. I had one of those for a while.

Fun to see the vintage Kenmore in such nice condition with all its pieces. That is a nice size power nozzle, Sears really had something with its cleaner line for many years. I remember the crevice tools with the flared edge. Never realized it slid into the side of the cleaner.

Do I spy a Benz on the other side of Dave loading up? :-)When I saw snow in the outdoor picture, it took a minute for me to process. I'm just so out of practice in seeing it, LOL
