I've had a couple of issues...
In the past few months, I bought a Kirby Legend 2 Reno Group (shampooer, Zip Brush and related accessories) off of eBay and the seller taped up the original Kirby box and slapped a shipping label on it with no padding or anything inside the box. Fortunately, nothing was damaged, except the box itself, which got a little crushed on one end and of course had packing tape all over it. I managed to peel most of it off after cutting away the packing label. When I messaged the seller to let them know I was disappointed with their packing job since I considered the original box to be part of the item and not just a container, they responded with surprise, saying they'd not thought of it that way.
On two occasions a little more recently, I bought vacuums from Shopgoodwill.com, a Kirby Classic III and a Kirby Heritage 84, both of which were shipped completely assembled in humongous boxes, actually two big boxes taped together. The Classic III had some thin protective wrap around it but the Heritage had none. Both boxes were pretty mangled they arrived but fortunately, the vacuums were not.
