Hi,
Has anyone else ever wondered why Hoover took a step backwards and dropped the DAM and came out with the Concept line? The DAM's had a great tool set that was easy to connect and worked well, and the hard bag style. The Concept's although very good carpet cleaners, had a soft bag that always seemed to leak dirt, and very poor quality tools that were awful to hook up and did not work well. Or is it just me?????????

The trouble with the Dial A matic...

was that damn small side sucking hose. Had Hoover put a larger diameter hose and the quadiflex agitator in the DAM it would have been great.

The concept was a VERY good carpet cleaning vacuum, however

I have always felt the same way. For above the floor tool use, the DAM blows the Concept out of the water for sure. Didn't Hoover's backtracking to a "dirty air" system have something to do with selling the patent rights to clean air design to Panasonic?

I love the concept one , great vacuum , Could any one post a pic of the DAM never had the chance to see one I don't think, it could have just had another name here

And for me

Its the DAM/Convertable/Dynamatic every time. I know the Concept 1 is a good cleaner but to me it seems very heavy and clumsy compared to the DAM, which has a certain elegance about it. Then there are the tools .......
