Custom upright to to canister modification

So I took the powerhead section of the Kärcher (Sebo BS 36) upright apart from the main unit because there was loose latch (thing that makes the powerhead section attach to the main unit and swing). I repaired it and then I started to think what if...
I am big fan of canister vacuums with the powerhead. Problem is that I don't have the full-size powerhead and in here are no full-size powerheads available to buy.

So I just decided to try use the upright powerhead section with the canister vacuum.
I made a sturdy bar to connect the both latches, attached pipe to it with a very strong steel band and made wiring to it.
Now it became truly full-size powerhead and I am very happy how wel it works.
NOTE that I can attach powerhead back to Kärcher if I want to. But this is easier to use like this.

Hi Mikko and everyone!

I have a suggestion to repair the broken piece. I have been using a method that I don't scientifically understand but it works. You need liquid crazy glue, baking soda, tape and alcohol. You have to clean both surfaces with alcohol, let dry. Put the pieces together as they were designed, hold with tape on the opposite side where you are fusing. Then apply the glue and immediately drop on some baking soda (I noticed heat and chemical smell while it cured). The pieces will fuse back together. You may need to sand a bit of the fused soda/glue if it interferes with the design/function of the repaired piece.

I completely fused back together and power nozzle elbow that had broken into 4 pieces. You know the torque these undergo, but it became a solid unit after the repair.

That's a very interesting gluing style! I have to try it out to somewhere where are broken plastic parts. Normally I have just used the liquid super glue and it has hold up nicely, but your method sounds far more durable.
You can see in the picture 6 metal band which I used to repair broken part.

Now you have given me an idea, I have that same model Lux but the PN is not my favorite.
I am off to my workshop to fine a different PN for it

New setup

Now I have made my AEG Vampyr 402 to work with the Kärcher powerhead. I just had to use 35mm to 32mm adapter to fit the AEG 35mm handle to the Volta 32mm wand.
Kärcher powerhead looks ridiculously oversized, but I don't mind
I really like the Lux powerhead and naturally I fitted it back to Lux.
All the wirings wor the powerheads in both canisters are carefully thought out to make using the canisters without cord in the way.
Of course I still have the Miele SEB-217 powerhead, but I have to make plug to it so I can use it. I already have cord to make it fit to my Vorwerk VK-117 upright.
So some kind battle of powerheads is coming to my channel.

Not really. I am going to put the powerhead section back to it.
This was just a experiment. To be honest I don't find canister vacuums convenient with the heavy and bulky powerhead. Kärcher is also in so good shape that I want to keep it that way.
I already have the Lux and Miele powerheads and they work for canister use much better. Especially Lux powerhead is much better than I expected. But for the deep cleaning they can't touch the Kärcher.

Oh welcome to my world! Even with the best design intelligence around, I still couldn't get used to my old SEBO K3 with its power nozzle. Good to know the PN is going to be re-attached to your Karcher upright.
