custom brushroll

Since I bought my 1984 Hoover custom convertible U4395 January of last year puting up with the rusted old brushroll and never bothering to buy a new one...Yesterday I painted the brushroll! I was thinking of painting it with the normal brushroll colors black with silver beater bars and end caps until I relized I can change it up a bit so I did instead of painting it those colors I painted it black with gold beater bars and end caps! It looks nice and almost brand new!

Let's hope the paint doesn't wear off and get on your rugs/carpet! It'd be cool just to display a golden brush roll, though!

Could ya not plate the beater bars? Would be tricky though.
