Crazy Aerus ReStore Find

Picked up this Aerus Electrolux 2100 from my local Habitat ReStore for $15! Truly a deal of a lifetime! She runs a dream too!

Thanks! Last October, I also snagged an Aerus Electrolux LE for $10 at a ReStore while vacationing in Charleston, SC. It didn't have the PN and the woven hose was leaky, but the vacuum ran great! I got a PN for an Electrolux 1205 and a generic hose, and it's been my daily driver ever since!

You are lucky. Any time my Restore gets a good vacuum in, the employees take it before it hits the floor. They had a stunning Kirby G5 in there couple years ago they used for 1 or 2 months to vacuum the entryway. I know that that is their way of testing the vacuums, and once the bag is full they put it up for sale, including the bag of dirt. I came in there about once a week, alternating between an hour before closing (usually when they started cleaning the floors and I could see if it was still being used or not) and an hour after opening to look around and check if the Kirby made it out for sale. Needless to say, I never seen it again. It never was out on the floor, and none of the cashiers remembered seeing it sell, so I concluded it must have been intercepted in the back room and just taken without being paid for. Oh well. Did get a Hoover Decade 800 though that looks like it was just taken out of the box yesterday aside from some scuffs on the hood and a terrible plastic rattle from somewhere on it. Very pristine.

I got a E Grand Marquis at Habitat for $10 back in 2012. I didn't get it the first time I saw it and somebody had snagged the floor brush and its wands before I got it. But it has everything else. The hose is stiff though.

Yeah, you sure stole that one for $15, kinda like I stole my Diamond J a couple of years ago for $10 at Goodwill. It had an almost new generic replacement hose and a PN5 power nozzle. The hose actually had a $76 price sticker on it from a local vacuum shop. The cashier and I had a laugh over it as I was checking out. The price was so cheap for that machine, I was halfway expecting a security guard to snag me on the way out the door.

I never see that quality in thrifts etc. I suspect the same happens here as what huskyvacs was describing. One Restore ended up firing the entire group of employees for things like keeping the good stuff off the selling floor and not pricing some things until they had time to size you up and then inflate said item at the register. It made the local news. Anyway I'm happy for you!

Yes, and often the better stuff doesn't even hit the sales floor because the thrifts like Goodwill are wising up and skimming the cream, so to speak, to sell online. The last six months or so, maybe even a year, the inventory at the thrifts around here has been nothing short of pathetic. Very little on the shelves and what's there isn't worth buying.
