Did all Corning percolators require a unique size cord? My mom used one when I was a kid which she received for a wedding gift in 1965. The cord on that one seemed pretty standard like other brand percolators, corn poppers, etc. My grandmother had one from the mid-1970's (Spice O'Life)--solid plastic lid, more rounded and not quite as tall as my mom's and I recall a different style cord on hers.

I picked one up the other day which was shaped like my mom's and had all the parts except the cord. Unfortunately a "standard" percolator cord won't fit.

I know there's a slim chance that I'll find the unique cord required, but thought I'd get my question posted to the Vacuumland community to help narrow my search.

Yeah Charles, I was thinking those percolators had a safety recall. My dad's parents had one and I guess they mentioned something about that to me. when I found it in a cabinet while looking for something else. But did they get rid of it? No. They held onto it, I guess because they thought that one day they might just have the last one in existence.
